PATAH STUDIO GUIDES

How to use Patah Studio

One video, one pattern, one result. This guide uses a 12-second sample so the changes are easy to see on the cut map.

1. Open a video or try the sample

In the editor, press Choose video and choose a file on your device. On a computer, you can also drag a file into the preview area. To try it first, press Or try the sample video. A 12-second motion sample is included with the site.

Your browser opens the selected file on your device. Your video is not sent to a Patah Studio server. Keep the original: your selection and undownloaded results are lost when the page reloads.

2. Set the interval and pattern

Choose 2 seconds, then the pattern 1 keep · 1 skip and start with Keep. A 12-second video is split into six segments: three kept and three skipped. The estimated result is 6 seconds.

To retain longer passages, try 2 keep · 1 skip. At a 2-second interval, this keeps 4 seconds and skips 2 in each complete cycle. Custom options allow intervals of 0.5–60 seconds and keep/skip counts of 1–10 each.

3. Compare your edit with the original

Press Preview result. The player jumps to the next kept segment when the current one ends. Green blocks on the map are kept; striped blocks are skipped.

Click a green block to review a particular cut. Switch to Original to hear or see what was removed. The edited player's time refers to the retained video; segment numbers refer to positions in the original.

4. Listen to speech and check movement

Audio is cut with the video. If words are cut mid-sentence, try a longer interval or change the starting segment. Alternating cuts do not guarantee complete speech. For important messages, check the full meaning after each change.

5. Prepare the file and download

Press Prepare WebM video and keep the tab active. Export runs in real time, so a one-minute result usually takes about a minute to process, plus segment seeking time.

When finished, click the download link. Check the saved file before closing the site. The result is WebM within a 1280 × 720 bounding box, without upscaling small videos. Preview and export require browser codec support.
