WebM export, audio and format issues
Patah Studio uses your browser's video and recording features. File support depends on the actual codec, not just the file extension.
An MP4 or MOV file will not open?
MP4, MOV and WebM are containers that can hold different video and audio codecs. Two MP4 files can use different codecs. If one opens and another does not, file size is not necessarily the cause.
Try MP4 with H.264 video and AAC audio. If your phone video uses an unsupported codec, convert it using a video converter you trust, then choose the converted file. Renaming .mov to .mp4 does not change the codec.
Why is the result WebM?
This version records frames played on a canvas using MediaRecorder. It selects a WebM format supported by the browser, so the result is a .webmfile, even when the source was MP4.
Check WebM support in the app where you want to upload. If it requires MP4, convert the result using a separate video converter. Patah Studio does not yet offer direct MP4 export.
What does “up to 720p” mean?
Exports fit within 1280 × 720 pixels while preserving the aspect ratio. Small videos are not enlarged. Both width and height limits also apply to vertical video; the editor does not promise 720 × 1280 for vertical footage.
Audio follows the video cuts
Audio in skipped segments is also removed. This can cut words, music beats or movement sounds. Listen to the joins in preview, then check the downloaded file. Start with audio unmuted and ensure the source contains sound.
The editor does not add music, generate voices or remove noise. Adjust the interval and pattern if the joins sound abrupt. Precise speech continuity may require manual editing.
Export is slow or cancelled?
Export runs at playback speed. A two-minute result takes about two minutes, plus some seeking time. Keep the tab active, the screen unlocked and the browser open. Hiding the tab cancels export, and you must start again.
Try a shorter clip first. Close demanding apps if your device is slow. Chrome or Edge with recording support is needed for this export; preview may still work when export is unavailable.
After the download button appears
Click the download link and wait for the file to save. Play it from your downloads folder to check the picture, audio and duration. Undownloaded results are not saved as projects on the site. Reload only after confirming your result is safely saved.
